How is the unboxing for this model?
Assembly of this model is very intuitive, even if it can take some time. Make sure you have enough time for assembly before welcoming guests to your party.
What type of gas pressure regulator is used in Belgium?
In Belgium, it is often possible to work with the gas hose and gas pressure regulator supplied as standard by Boretti. However, Belgian customers will then often have to work with butane (instead of propane). The downside of butane is that it is not as usable at lower temperatures (around the freezing point).
In Belgium, grilling on propane is the most popular method as well, and Belgian customers can also use propane on our barbecues. However, Belgian customers must purchase a different gas pressure regulator/reliever. In Belgium, a propane pressure of 37 mbar is used. The gas pressure regulator supplied as standard is suitable for 30 mbar.
What type of gas pressure regulator is used in the Netherlands?
In the Netherlands, a gas pressure regulator is used with a Dutch gas connection for 30 mbar, suitable for propane/butane. Boretti supplies this as standard with your new barbecue. In the Netherlands, propane is the standard for barbecuing.
How to prepare your barbecue for winter?
We recommend that you thoroughly clean the barbecue at the end of the season. Clean the interior and exterior of the barbecue with a cloth and a mild detergent. Thoroughly dry the barbecue after cleaning it.
Clean the grills and grease them with a vegetable oil (e.g. sunflower oil). Wrap the grills with newspaper and store them in a dry place. If necessary, external and moving metal parts of the barbecue (such as bolts, nuts and hinges) can be sprayed with WD-40. This makes them more resistant to weather influences and frost, and reduces the chance of rusting.
Clean the burners of a gas barbecue at least twice a year (ideally at the beginning and at the end of the barbecue season). For this purpose, first disconnect the gas hose with gas pressure regulator and gas cylinder. Refer to the manual of the barbecue to ensure that the dismantling and assembly of the flame tamers and burner pipes is done correctly. Clean the burner pipes with a wet cloth and a brush.
Furthermore, we recommend that you store the barbecue under a cover in a sheltered and dry place (e.g. in the garage or shed). If the barbecue is stored for a longer period of time, remove the cover from the barbecue at least once a month to reduce possible condensation and to check the barbecue for rust, insects and mould. Disconnect the gas cylinder and always store it outdoors.
How to prepare your barbecue for the beginning of the season
When barbecue season begins again, it is advisable to check the barbecue thoroughly for insects and mould that may have settled in the barbecue during the winter. This is especially true for gas barbecues. Brush all other dirt out of the barbecue and use the manual of the barbecue to put it back together. Check that the grills are still clean and have their vegetable oil grease layer before putting them back on the barbecue. Clean the exterior of the barbecue with a cloth and a mild detergent. Thoroughly dry the barbecue after cleaning it.
How to maintenance and clean my cast iron grills?
While the barbecue is still warm, clean the grills with a suitable cleaning brush (available in e.g. the Boretti webshop). This makes it easier to brush off food residues from the grill and minimises the risk of mould. For the flat top grill, it is easier to use a spatula.
After the barbecue has cooled down, wipe the grill with paper towel or a cloth. This will remove the fine soot particles/fine dust from the grill and will thoroughly dry it. Next, rub the (cast iron) grill with a vegetable oil (e.g. sunflower oil or linseed oil). This prevents rusting and food residues burning into the grill during your next barbecue use.
We do not recommend cleaning the grills in the dishwasher, as this might lead to rusting. It is also really not necessary for a good clean result.

Can I leave my barbecue outside?
You can leave your barbecue outside during the summer. However, we advise you to always cover the barbecue with an original Boretti cover when it is not in use. Always make sure that your barbecue has cooled down before you put the cover on it. A dry, clean place is always advisable for storing your barbecue. See also “Extend the operating life of your barbecue” and “Winterising your barbecue“.
Is it possible to convert a barbecue and make it suitable for a different type of gas or gas pressure, or for another country?
No, this is not possible and is strongly advised against.
For which type of gas is my Boretti gas barbecue suitable?
All our BBQs are suitable for use with butane or propane. Countries outside the Netherlands and Belgium will often use other gas pressures and gas pressure regulators.

How to maintenance and clean the grease tray and interior of my barbecue?
If the barbecue has a grease tray, we recommend cleaning the tray after each use to prevent the accumulation of dirt and residues. Clean the grease tray after the barbecue has cooled down sufficiently. Clean it with warm water and a mild detergent and dry the grease tray thoroughly afterwards. We also recommend cleaning the interior (sides and back) of the barbecue regularly and removing any food residue.
