Vino d'Abruzzo

Vino d'Abruzzo

Abruzzo has something special, it is a region that is so close to the capital and at the same time still unknown and undiscovered to many. Anyone who has ever been to Abruzzo knows that the people deserve nothing but respect for the way they live their lives. They go the extra mile and at the same time manage to keep their simplicity and empathy. They are known for the determination and passion they have when it comes to their profession. An 'abruzzese' is proud to be 'abruzzese' and rightly so, because Abruzzo is a unique place. Not comparable to any other place anywhere in the world.

An almost forgotten region, Abruzzo gets nowhere near the international acclaim of other wine regions such as Puglia, Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. Abruzzo is located in the east of Italy where the highest part of the Apennines is located and with a vineyard area of about 34,000 hectares, it is not that big. Nevertheless, producers make an enormous amount of wine: in terms of volume, Abruzzo is among the top in Italy. Some of the best Italian wines come from there, pure authentic wines that no one can deny are some of the tastiest wines in the world.

Perhaps it is precisely because it has been a forgotten region for such a long time that Abruzzo has never seen the need to follow the trends led by the international market, thus continuing its authentic wine character.

The different grape varieties worth noting that make for the really interesting wines, are:

Trebbiano: white grape that produces white wine of the same name.

Cerasuolo: used to make rosé, redder than normal.

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo: red berry from which the famous delicious Montelpulciano d'Abruzzo is made, which should not be confused with the Montepulciano Toscano, made with the Sangiovese.

The range of Boretti wine climate cabinets is not named after this wine region for nothing. Quality and authenticity come together in this Abruzzo collection. Exactly what the region represents. Exactly what Boretti stands for, in combination with iconic design.

"I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food."

- W.C. Fields, Actor and Comedian -
