The induction hob is currently the most popular type of hob in Dutch kitchens. No wonder, as induction hobs have a lot of advantages.

Induction involves generating an electrical current by way of magnetic induction. Electric coils are placed under the glass of the induction hob, just like in the dynamo of a bicycle. As soon as the fields come into contact with the bottom of a pan, heat is generated. So the heat is all collected in the bottom of the pan, so no heat or energy is lost.
Below is a list of the advantages of induction cooking.

Induction saves energy

Induction is the most efficient way of cooking. With induction cooking, all the energy goes to heating the pan. Compared to gas, the efficiency is considerably higher. Depending on the quality of the pans, only 10 to 20% of the energy is lost. When cooking on gas, up to 50% of the generated heat disappears in the air around the pan.

Induction cooking is super fast

In terms of speed, nothing comes close to beating induction. A kettle of water comes to a boil about 30% faster on an induction plate than on gas. And as quick as it is for the hob to heat up the pan, it switches off again just as fast, wasting no energy.

Induction is safer

Because no fire is involved, the fire risk with induction is considerably smaller than with gas. And the risk of a gas leak is also a thing of the past. When you lift the pan, the heat production stops immediately.

Easy to clean.

The flat, glass surface of an induction hob is very easy to clean. Just put a cleaning cloth over it as soon as you remove the pan and your hob is spotless again.

Anyone who is passionate about kitchens looks beyond just the functional features of the equipment, they also look at the design.
